Rosanna Peeling is Professor and Chair of Diagnostics Research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK, and Founding Director of the International Diagnostics Centre (IDC). A medical microbiologist by training, she has held senior positions at the World Health Organization’s Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases and the Canadian National Laboratory for STDs. Prof Peeling has played a pivotal role in shaping global diagnostic strategies for infectious diseases including HIV, hepatitis, dengue, and COVID-19. Her work focuses on expanding access to high-quality diagnostics in low-resource settings, championing social innovation, and bridging science and policy to advance global health. She was the first woman to receive the George MacDonald Medal from the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine for her outstanding contributions.
