Speaker Bio:

David Heymann is Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; and a Distinguished Fellow at the Centre on Universal Health at Chatham House, UK. He has served as Chairman of Public Health England, led the global response to severe acute respiratory syndrome at the WHO, and was the Director-General’s Representative for Polio Eradication. Earlier in his career, he worked with the CDC in Africa, where he helped investigate the first Ebola outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and contributed to the smallpox eradication programme in India.
