Abbreviated rabies PrEP schedules

Rabies represents an unremitting and neglected global challenge. Particularly for travellers , rabies PrEP is often not planned in a timely manner prior to departure. The WHO has recommended double-dose two-visit intradermal (ID) and single-dose two-visit intramuscular (IM) schedules.

Topics covered

  • Prime and Boost concept: rabies PrEP and PEP
  • Shortened two-visit rabies PrEP schedules
  • Harmonizing rabies PrEP and PEP guidelines
  • Single-visit rabies PrEP schedules

Fast-Track Immunity: Rapid immune protection through advanced vaccination strategies for Tick-borne Encephalitis vaccination

TBE is becoming increasingly endemic across Europe. However, initial vaccine uptake and compliance with the full three-dose schedule, as well as subsequent boosters, remain sub-optimal in many regions.

This presentation explores

  • The various schedules available for TBE vaccines
  • Their suitability in situations where rapid protection is needed, such as for travellers or individuals beginning vaccination during the high tick activity season
