David Baldwin is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, and an Honorary Professor of Medicine at the University of Nottingham. He serves as Lead Clinician for Lung Cancer at NHS England, Chair of the UK Clinical Expert Group for Lung Cancer and Mesothelioma, and Advisor to the UK National Screening Committee.
Baldwin played a key role in developing the National Optimal Lung Cancer Pathway and the Targeted Lung Health Check programme. His work focuses on lung cancer CT screening, epidemiology, and health service delivery. He has authored over 240 publications and held major leadership roles in trials such as the UK Lung Cancer Screening trial and the 4-IN-THE-LUNG-RUN trial.
