Sharonne N. Hayes is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA, and an internationally recognised leader in sex- and gender-based cardiology. With more than 25 years of clinical experience, she specialises in women’s cardiovascular health, spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD), and health equity. As principal investigator of the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program, Hayes has helped redefine understanding of SCAD and advocate for more inclusive, gender-informed cardiovascular care.
