Prof Ele Ferrannini of the University of Pisa School of Medicine, Pisa, Italy, welcomes congress delegates to a Takeda-sponsored symposium held at the 51st Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes in Stockholm, Sweden, on the 14th September 2015, and introduces its aim of examining the current management of Type 2 diabetes in post-acute coronary syndrome patients from the point of view of both cardiologists and diabetologists.
