Speaker:

Qasim Akram is a Consultant Rheumatologist and General Physician based in Manchester, UK. His subspecialist interests are musculoskeletal ultrasound, early inflammatory arthritis, and GCA/large vessel vasculitis. He currently leads the Stockport Early Inflammatory Arthritis Ultrasound Clinic and the Giant Cell Arteritis Fast Track Pathway.   

He is a European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) Ultrasound Instructor and teaches at a local, regional, and national level. He is the Founder and Director of the ‘Rheumatology Ultrasound Course Manchester’, a lead instructor for the North West Rheumatology Ultrasound Network, and a British Society for Rheumatology (BSR) trainer.   

His main clinical research interests are focused on the use of ultrasound in rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis/spondyloarthropathies, crystal arthritis, and GCA/large vessel vasculitis.
