Jorge Cortes is Chief of Hematology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and serves as Deputy Director of the University of Alabama O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, Birmingham, USA. He is internationally recognised for his contributions to the research and treatment of haematologic malignancies, with a particular focus on chronic myeloid leukaemia, acute myeloid leukaemia, and related disorders.
