EMJ recently spoke to Claire Harrison, Professor of Myeloproliferative Neoplasms and Clinical Director at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, UK, following her receipt of the European Hematology Association (EHA) 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award.  

She reflects on her pioneering work in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), including the landmark COMFORT-II trial and the impact of Janus kinase inhibitors on patients with myelofibrosis. Harrison also explores the latest advances in MPN treatment, from emerging targeted therapies and novel approaches to disease modification to the importance of reducing thrombosis and disease progression.
