Introducing the European Medical Journal 1.1

United Kingdom, February 19, 2016: The first edition of the European Medical Journal is available now, this is the first of four issues new for 2016. Throughout this sequence of journals, we aim to provide readers with critical updates from a range of therapeutic areas. Following this theme we have compiled an assortment of research from across medicine that includes original peer-reviewed articles, reviews from recent symposia, and feature articles from our esteemed editorial board. This opening edition covers topics from the fields of urology, oncology, respiratory, reproductive health and more. The eJournal is online here.

Articles to look forward to include: a review of population-based studies observing the link between urinary incontinence, depression, and psychosocial factors from Dr Jodie Avery, as well as a look at the technology currently available for human sperm cryopreservation by Dr Eva Moce. Dr Yasar Caliskan received special recognition from our Editor-in-Chief for his summary of complement-pathway associated glomerulopathies, which provides medical professionals with essential knowledge for the diagnosis and treatment of a spectrum of renal diseases.

Meanwhile, our features section delivers several fascinating pieces. One such is by Dr Ahmad Awada, and addresses the question of whether treatment guidelines in oncology need to evolve; and another, from Prof László Vécsei, analyses the treatment of multiple sclerosis. Additionally, we have included two symposium reviews, which will provide further analysis of important medical issues.

Our goal for the European Medical Journal publications is to provide healthcare professionals with a regular supply of vital research updates throughout 2016.
