Naveed Sattar is Professor of Cardiometabolic Medicine at the University of Glasgow, UK, and Honorary Consultant in Metabolic Medicine at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. He co-leads a cardiovascular disease prevention clinic and has contributed extensively to national and international guidelines on diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. With more than 1,600 publications spanning epidemiology, clinical trials, mechanistic studies, and meta-analyses, his work has shaped understanding of diabetes onset age, obesity, ectopic fat, and cardiovascular outcomes.
