The biotechnology industry group EuropaBio has launched a campaign to demonstrate how European healthcare biotechnology delivers benefits across society and highlight the framework needed for success on a global scale.

Entitled ‘Vision for Europe: Innovation, Investment and Excellence’, the campaign focuses on three key pillars: leading the world in scientific and industrial innovation, boosting and attracting investments in biotech and becoming a global centre of excellence for biotech.

Ultimately, EuropaBio’s campaign aims to support a competitive and innovative European pharmaceutical environment within the continent’s evolving legislative landscape by attracting, maintaining and growing investments in innovative healthcare biotech discoveries to ensure that the EU is the world’s most advanced region for both public and private biotech research and development. It is hoped this vision to revolutionise the future of healthcare will be achieved through joining forces with innovators, policy-makers and other key actors in biotechnology.

“Europe is a leader in research, development and innovation and this has to translate rapidly into innovative and life saving treatments that could be easily accessible to patients,” commented Claire Skentelbery, Director General, EuropaBio. “We have a vision for Europe that creates an environment for start-ups, SMEs and large companies that enables their growth and helps to attract, maintain, and grow investments in innovative healthcare biotech discoveries. We are joining forces with innovators, policymakers and other key actors to make the EU the world’s most advanced region in healthcare biotechnology.’’
