Antonio Almeida Headshot

Professor Antonio Almeida is the Director of the Clinical Haematology Service at Hospital da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal, and the 2024 President of the European Haematology Association. After obtaining his medical degree from Cambridge University in 1993 and completing his specialist training in hematology in 2002, he pursued a clinical fellowship at Imperial College, London. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he is the founding dean of the Católica Medical School. Professor Almeida is dedicated to advancing the field of hematology and is actively involved in initiatives aimed at mentoring the next generation of haematologists.
