Its diverse product portfolio and pipeline includes therapeutic areas like advanced circulatory support; cardiopulmonary; difficult-to-treat depression, drug-resistant epilepsy; heart failure and obstructive sleep apnea.

With a presence in more than 100 countries, LivaNova’s products and therapies are used worldwide with a team of 3,000 people working to help improve and sustain patients’ quality of life.

What they asked EMJ to do

In December 2021, LivaNova briefed EMJ to help them fill an educational gap left by a lack of face-to-face time as they looked to increase awareness around patients suffering with epilepsy and depression, as well as the further impact of Covid-19.

What EMJ recommended

EMJ recommended producing an infographic – which was a new product from the publisher – specifically designed to make it easier to digest complex information.

The infographic explored depression in patients with epilepsy, focusing on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Questioning what healthcare professionals can do to help, the collateral analysed the epidemiology of depression and noted the differences between patients with controlled epilepsy and those with drug-resistant epilepsy.

EMJ posted the infographic in its digital neurology journal and generated an excellent response – far exceeding expectations.
